FAVORITE THINGS

Since I haven't posted in forever. Instead of trying to recap all that's been going on the past few months, I thought I would try a list of their current favorite things:

SERGITO'S FAVORITE THINGS

Superheroes
Water bending (he is convinced that he's not pretending, that he really can water bend)
Being the boss
Gum
Sticks (which become swords of course)
Climbing trees
The tube for our air pump which apparently makes an ideal belt
Coins, lots and lots of coins
Teaching mom and dad how to play angry birds ( he likes to think he knows a lot more than we do - in my case he does)
Wrestling with friends
Playing the lava game (pull all the sofa cushions off and jump from one to the other without falling into the lava)
Making Clark the monster, screaming and running away from him
Climbing into Clark's crib in the mornings to make him happy
Anything with sugar in it
Legos
Friends
Family visiting from out of town
Sliding down the stairs
Being better at everything than everybody else (we're working on taking this off the list)
Winning
Finding hairs on his arms and legs (current greatest aspiration: He often says, "mom, I have MORE dark hairs and soon I'll have lots and lots of dark hairs all over my body like daddy, just like daddy!" Then he looks at me waiting for me to react with a jubilant cry of excitement at this fabulous future in store for him.)

EMMA'S FAVORITE THINGS

doing what she wants to do when she wants to do it
anything pink
wands
crowns
dresses
more dresses
purses
dolls or stuffed animals
attention from adults
cuddling with daddy
trying to keep up with Sergito
climbing trees despite all the undesirable scrapes
any writing utensil (Sergito and her recently found a permanent marker and decided to redecorate all of my windows, the dinning room wall, table, and fireplace -- all writing utensils were in time out for a week, SO SAD!)
paper (especially pink paper)
water colors
play dough
books, books and more books (there is no such thing as too many books)
puzzles are her latest obsession
blanket (micro-fleece) and thumb in mouth combination
telling Clark and Sergito what to do or telling on them - both rewarding in their own way
playing the piano (she can't actually play a song, but she loves to sit and play the keys)
getting back up after being put to bed

CLARK'S FAVORITE THINGS

his thumb and blanket (knitted ones)
nap time (or is that my favorite?)
running after his siblings
running in church (for some reason he always heads straight for the teacher)
running in general (we're not longer worried about his mobility, just about the safety. . . of our house)
talking in church unless of course he has already been taken out into the hallway
screaming contests with Sergito and Emma (who can scream the loudest? I really think Clark wins these despite his size)
putting anything and everything in his mouth (his favorite are water bottle lids - I am constantly fishing them out of his mouth)
wrestling with daddy (so young and yet he has already discovered the joys of joining the "daddy vs. the kids" fights)
Balls - big or small it doesn't matter
TV remotes
telephones
computers
really the more off limits, the more exciting
music (he occasionally dances with daddy)
Carbs - doesn't really matter what kind: pasta, bread, rice etc.
spreading food around his tray and off the side and then into his hair - very exciting
books - they make such a nice sound when you tear out the pages:)
Bathrooms: splashing in the toilet, unrolling the toilet paper, emptying out the cupboards are all very exciting
Knocking down whatever Emma and Sergito just built
his bottle
and of course mommy (I have to enjoy being the favorite while it lasts)
